Insane
Looks like their first time in a kayak.
Thanks for the great instructions and demonstrations.
If you watch any decently trained paddlers, they use variations of the draw stroke all the time. It is absolutely a fundamental stroke for accurate manoeuvring as you quite rightly point out. Just watch a Slalom paddler some time.
Thanks dude you rock!!!
Thank you so much! I tried the hand roll a few times and didn't make it but then I tried again with these tips and got it first try!
professional drowning, cool
Helped me to throw my head back a little and put pressure on my back band
Think things through for the most efficient shuttle set up. Have extra ropes for tying extra boats down. Extra insurance for safety are bow and stern lines. If you have multiple vehicles, have most of them at the take-out. The person with the car at the put-in should transfer warm clothes to a vehicle at the take-out, if possible. Also, do NOT waste a lot of time running shuttle & leaving cold, wet people waiting for you!
Are u a fugging robot or what
Good video & explanation, imo. As a much older paddler, many of my contemporaries believe than many rapids have been downgraded over time as more & more people run them. Also there are many circumstances that can upgrade a situation. Very cold weather, location (paddling through an inaccessible canyon), strainers, etc.
This video and other similar videos about rapid classification and decision making on this channel are dangerous misinformation. Do not ever run a questionable rapid without scouting the entire length of the rapid beforehand. Other videos on this channel imply that a paddler doesn't need to scout a rapid from shore in its entirety until a class 4 rapid - this is a death sentence and frankly calls into question the skill level of the video producers of this channel.
...no disrespect intended but this video could show sharper examples of the s turn...
Still the best instructional out there. The new carbon boats are wicked too!!
I love ww kayaking but these guys have a death wish
This was cool, except that the video was showing higher classes while speaking as if it was 4 or 5.
steven wright is an animal of kayaking
O
“Learn the brace first, and your roll is going to come a lot easier.”
Great!
we sometimes use motorboat to create a wave it' a great fell ;)
Fantastic video. Thanks
These videos are the most helpful thing I've seen for whitewater
thanks for keeping things simple
Is that Dane in these vids?
Eric. The real legend.
Ive ran a Class 45
I didn't understand a word of that, but it was awesome.
Weird 🥴 it’s a bit like that synchronised swimming but in a strange looking kayak.
Fantastic information.
Fantastic video! Isn't a close face running draw actually a running pry?
hello greetings please we need if you could subtitle the videos into spanish
It's great seeing what Captain Jonathan Archer of the Star-ship Enterprise does in his spare time! Love the video mate.
The best paddle instruction I have seen on UA-cam. Thanks EJ.
What is going on at 2:40
Thanks for posting. Very helpful info!!
Great explanation
EJ could teach a lead block to roll up! Best lessons
1:50 that was a beautiful belly flop
Helpful
Class 4 is the craziest I've ever run.
I’m still at class zero
Excellent instructive video...
Do you edge for a draw stoke to help with the turn?
Lol. That was Dane Jackson he was talking crap to.
The more i progress in learing the roll and brace, the more often i watch the video and the more helpful is every sentence Eric is explaining. Thumbs up for Eric, a wise man.
You all prolly dont care but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I somehow lost the login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Alden Jamal instablaster =)
@Remy Elliot i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.

This video is great !!
I have a Monstar. I was at a small, tight wave and somehow, I did a backsurf without trying to do it. The crowd went wild! And I claimed it.
Where was this filmed?
awesome the information!
WoW! Reto, ich wusste nicht, dass du so gerne Kajak fährst! Viel Spaß noch!
